good finds at target
as we were shopping at target tonight for a birthday toy we came upon these old fisher price toys. i was tempted to buy the toys for old times sake but didn’t in the end but those toys bring back some good memories of playing at my grandparents house!
coming to a publix near you!
a while ago josh had been contacted by publix to work on an ice cream container for their strawberry shortcake ice cream line. well yesterday josh had a meeting with the guy from publix’s and he happened to bring along some of the empty containers for josh. i have to say that these look great, rather different from his normal style of work of skulls and such. the strawberry shortcake ice cream should be coming out soon so keep an eye out for it!
she fell asleep where?
i could hardly believe it myself but tonight caitlyn fell asleep on the toilet…yes people you read that correctly….she fell asleep on the toilet while trying to take a poop. i wished i could have captured it on tape so that i could show it to her when she’s older.
Spring Program
this past friday hailey had her spring program. she performed much better than we anticipated, actually we weren’t sure how she was going to do considering at her christmas program she looked like this 90% of the time..
she was holding back tears all through her christmas program (finally at the end she broke down in tears).
anyways…. back to the spring program. if you know hailey she can be very shy but she performed wonderfully! she was singing the songs and doing all the motions. she’s now been singing her songs here at home and she loves seeing her recorded performace from that night.

not the kind of day i anticipated…..
today i got a call from my dad saying wondering if i could take my mom to the emergency room explaining that my mom tripped and fell at the bank the bank today. i rushed over to pick her up and she was in extreme pain. by the time we got to the hospital my dad was already there waiting for us. i stayed with them until it was time for them to head back to see the doctor. a little after 5:30 we called my dad to see how my mom was doing. my dad told us that my mom’s bone near the shoulder socket had been crushed due to her fall thus causing her the extreme pain. the doctors were debating whether or not to do surgery but they decided to put her in a immobilized sling (or something like that). they are saying that surgery may still be needed at a later time. i’m sure that my mom would appreciate any prayers for a quick and healthy recovery. she is in extreme pain right now and is disappointed that she had to cancel her trip up north on wednesday to visit my sister and her family. as we told her…. “the important thing right now is to take care of yourself”.
the dreaded time of the year
it’s hard to believe that it’s already april and of course being april come tax time. ugg…i really hate tax time. every year i think to myself i’m not waiting till the last minute to do taxes but yet every year with 2 weeks before tax deadline i’m scrambling around preparing things for the accountant. and of course with only about a week before taxes are due we still haven’t done our tax returns but tomorrow i’m dropping everything off to the accountant!
also with it being april i just realized that the girls will be out of school at the end of may/early june (where has the time gone!). caitlyn has throughly enjoyed being in school this year. she has made lots of new friends and has learned so much. its sad that she won’t be able to go back to her current school for the next school year but she is excited about attending a new school for the 1st grade. of course hailey will be going back to the same preschool (just think in 2 more years the girls will be on the same school schedule!). i’m hoping to find some summer activites for the girls here soon since. thankfully we are having a week long family get together in tennesee in late june. my sister, 2 brothers and their families will all be joining us along with our parents. the girls are looking forward to spending time with their aunts, uncles, cousins and of course grandma and grandpa. it will be fun to get away and just relax!

shortly after arriving home from picking up the girls from school the phone rang. i answered it and there was this polite little girl asking to speak to caitlyn, of course i figured it was one of her friends from school. after a few minutes we figured out who it was. caitlyn was a talking up a storm with her friend. while i was putting things away and going through mail i realized that caitlyn has been on the phone for some time. i looked at the clock and realized she has been talking on the phone for 20 minutes. i hope this isn’t a sign of things to come in the future other wise she’ll have to get a job to help pay for the phone bill!!
Spring Break ‘08
well the week is half over and the girls are enjoying their spring break. so far this week we have had playdates tuesday and wednesday with some of the girl’s friends and yet we have more play times arranged for both thursday and friday. it’s definately been a very busy week so far but seeing the girls have fun playing around with their friends have been great. my household cleaning has been pushed back but that’s okay by me. my main focus this week is to just slow down and enjoy this time with the girls, we all know that kids grow up way to fast!
