My Third Piece in After Effects

Hydro74 | Heist Party Promo - Revision from Joshua Smith on Vimeo.

This second one is more static and abstract in structure. Chaos in theory

Hydro74 | Heist Party Promo (Static) from Joshua Smith on Vimeo.

Here is another piece I did up in After Effects. It was more a exploration than anything else. I’m probably more proud of the Heist Logo than anything else really. Still, semi-solid consider I’ve only been playing with this program for less than a week.

Hydro74 | Dragon Alliance Test from Joshua Smith on Vimeo.

Aiight, this program might get addictive. Here is my second piece & day 3 of playing with this software. I did up a shirt for Dragon a while back so decided to use that as a foundation for the piece. It’s nothing over the top, but better than that last one at least. Guess my meter from ’super below average’ just moved to ’super kinda below average’, :)

My First Piece with After Effects

Hydro74 | Revolt Test Piece from Joshua Smith on Vimeo.

Well, I got Adobe Production Premium for Christmas, and finally had a chance to play with After Effects. First and foremost, I have no clue what I’m doing in After Effects, so this is one of my first stabs. I believe this is my second legit day of playing with it, and this is what I created. My goal tomorrow is to learn how to keyframe the music, and make it flow a little bit better, but for now, this is okay for a beginner. So don’t hate on it too much.

By the way, Merry Christmas (late) and Happy New Year. I am so ready to wrap up this year and start fresh!

Just got word that the starting phase of my apparel line is in process. The line is called SeventyFour and we are testing it as a private label line for Metro Park and a few others. This is the soft launch and as things progress we’ll start focusing on branding and define a online system as well. This is quite exciting. If you are into it, check it out.

Just got in the new Moleskins. They look fantastic. These will be in short supply. If you want to grab one, they are availble over at Legacy of Defeat | http://www.legacyofdefeat.com They are $45 + shipping.

One a side note. Next week I am expecting my short run of Hoodies and Messenger Bags. Then toward the middle to the end of the week, should have proofs of the Back in Black book and will do a limited time Pre-Order with it. The final books should be in hand in less than a week and a half. When I finally take time during Christmas Break, I plan on redeveloping Legacy of Defeat and will be building a Limited Edition Apparel Line and featuring more than just myself. Just haven’t had time to invest as much time into it as I had hope.

Back in Black | Book v2

The book is almost done! Quite happy at the moment. Just a few more small things I need to attend to within it, and I can finally send it off to the printer. The book jumped from 60 pages to 86… but there isn’t a page I would want to leave out. Going to keep the print run really small since the primary focus is marketing for the event, but will have a few extra copies to sell. Once I’m done with this, I need to start developing the Hydro74 Typography Hardback Book.

Hydro74 Messenger Bags | Coming Soon

bag1.jpgbag22.jpg

I’m a little late on the Christmas push for a few new pieces. Due to this past show and trying to get caught up on work, time has slipped by. However, I got some great stuff coming in shortly. One will be this set of Messenger Bags. Doing two designs, both are limited to 24 pieces each. The images are just mocks, so the inks will be a bit more tone on tone. I also have a limited run of Hoodies & Laser Etched Moleskins coming in as well. For the Hoodies, I am only doing 10 in each size. If everything goes to plan, I should have everything in hand in the next 10 days or less. Fingers crossed. If you are interested in anything, let me know and I’ll drop you a email once they come in.

Lastly, in the works. The Back in Black book is getting closer. I should have things sorted this weekend so i can get send off for a test print. Printing shouldn’t take that long. Once I get past this project, and a few others, I will be doing a hard back version of the Typography Book, that is newly laid out with new pieces & various things. I also have plans for the official Hydro74 Tshirt Book. This one will be a massive undertaking, but well worth it.

Hydro74 vs. Hasbro | My Little Pony

Well, I was nicely surprised when I was looking through a Hasbro catalog and noticed the Art Pony out for My Little Pony. I have no clue if I get credit for this, but I’ll find out once I drop a order in. If you want one, I believe you can grab it here or look out for them in the store (i guess)

Here are the pieces from the Back in Black show. The one piece that is missing is the Samurai Print. Hopefully I’ll have that sorted here soon. One of these will be made into a limited edition Hoodie this week. Will have those over at Legacy of Defeat soon. Just wanted to show, thought these model shots turned out really well after some photoshop’n.
