Working on a gig poster for one of the Smashing Pumpkins dates down in Miami. So far I like where it’s at, but would love to hear some feedback to see what could be better. I personally like the muted gold and white (top one), but also like the CMYK one (bottom) because it has this 60’s black-light style. Any thoughts? Loves? Hates? etc…

Top one for me, love the gold which suits the type treatment better. Looks like it should be on a mirror like a victorian pub advert…

Sweet Poster! I say the first one. The last one is pretty deace, but I feel the gold in the first one captures the essence of the pumpkins more. I don’t dig the floating panel at the bottom of the middle one.

Middle piece for me!
Like the Victorian Gold Style, where most of the details stand out more (SMASHING PUMPKINS).
Without the background texture it looks more neat too!
Overall LOVE it, wicked as usual!

I like the middle one, the background pattern on the top looks too busy I think. I usually alsways like clean and simple the best. I think the bottom one is way too bright. Cool piece though, it’s looking great so far.

I’m not a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan as such, but I think the bottom one somehow doesn’t fit with the image I have of the band. The top gold one, however, is right on the money. But whatever you choose to do with this one, It’s a killer gig poster for sure!

the first or the third, haven’t decided yet if i like the colors in the third…could be cause i’m kinda fed up with the separated CMYK colors…but printing the first one in gold/white/black could be cool… thumbs up for making the entire motif have a SP feel, nice!

I like the top with the muted color and the filled border, I also like the idea of the color version but think it would work better if the colors were less saturated.

I like the top. The gold detail around the edges gives it a bit more depth and makes the type treatment pop more. The muted gold and black fits the Smashing Pumpkins style a bit better than the cmyk one.

Dude, love the top and middle. I’d go middle is better, the foreground elements just pop more without the background. You dont just see the white, everything pops out. With the top one it feels like all the gold fights with itself a bit. I agree that the floater at the bottom feels a bit off, but again it doesn’t stand out as much with the background there.
It’s definitely a good poster for SP man, great work!

it doesnt seem very “smashing pumpkins-esque,” but the art is killer, as usual. i like the middle one best though. the design in the border almost seems too busy on the others (especially the bottom, the blue makes it pop a lot).

#1 is money, although I do like the CMYK simply for the eye grabbing appeal but simplicity always wins out for me so… back to # 1.
Really love the detail in the four circles surrounding the poster - really sets it off.

Middle for sure, I like that the black border will frame the space of the image and I think it suits the Smashing Pumpkins more than the CMYK one. Top work as always!

definately the 1st one, i reckon the outside border helps to tie everything in, it doesnt leave the purchasing information hanging like the middle one does, but it’s not OTT like the last one, so yeah, definately the 1st one!

Personally I’d drop the skull and replace with something unique. that sull is everywhere on your site and on a lot of your recent stuff.

First of all I want to say your a pimp…that poster is Dope. I think I like the muted one best BUT I have really been digging the CMYK shit lately. Considering where the event is and the fact that NU80’s is in, I’d have go with the last one.

I prefer #2. The cleaner boarder makes the background in the design stand out better. I also agree with “chenzzo”… the skull, though cool, is a bit played out… unless you haven’t used it in any commissioned pieces and we’re just oversaturated by it from the website.

I like the first one best.
I like how you’ve framed the legal / logo stuffs at the bottom into the decorative frame area.
The color one is really cool, but feels to cheery for The Pumpkins.
The gold/black feels like their music to me… and totally reminds me of the vibe from the Watchmen trailer that’s out now featuring one of their songs.

2 is the best , but the cmyk one is best for a band promo poster!. 3 keeps it solid-loud enough for a band promo poster, while still layin down that hydro style.
