Ah..The joys of starting a illustration to find out it’s not what the client wanted. It’s all good however because during the process I started to play with some detailed shading (mostly around the eyes) as well as trying to get enough depth by just using black and white vectors. I actually like it, however it’s a bit ‘cholo’ for me, but that is probably due to the tattoo’s I added, which i couldn’t resist. Over all, it was a fun study and tried to learn a simple solution, with good quality in a short timeframe.

The chunky/blocky look is definitely different, but cool. You should close the stabbed eye up and put some stitches in it. - S

i think the handle bar stache and goatee make it look more cholo than the tattoos do. lol.
